A real insider’s secret amongst wine lovers, Quilceda Creek winery has an impressive reputation for Cabernet and has received more 100-point scores from Robert Parker than any other North American winery. The property was founded in 1979 by Alex and Jeannette Golitzin in an almost desert-like corner of Washington State. The Golitzin family can trace their roots back to Prince Lev Sergeevich Galitzine, the acclaimed winemaker to the Russian Tzar, and Alex is actually the nephew of the legendary André Tchelistcheff who is often nicknamed the "Dean of American Winemaking."
This impressive pedigree is evident in their magnificent Cabernet Sauvignon which is crafted with fruit from Quilceda’s Champoux and Mach One vineyards. The young wine spends 20 months ageing in new Darnajou and Taransaud French Oak barrels before bottling, which helps to soften the punchy tannins and add extra complexity.
Enchanting notes of blackberry, cassis and crushed wild berries immediately burst out of the glass followed by undertones of cigar box spice, sweet licorice and leather. The first sip reveals a generous full body, firm tannins, and a solid core of succulent dark fruit. The robust flavour profile will respond well to additional cellaring, although it can also be enjoyed now alongside rich red meat dishes.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
