Barbaresco
Prunotto Barbaresco 2019
Drink now or cellar for up to 15 years. Decant before drinking.
Prunotto, a Piemonte estate tucked between Barbaresco and Barolo in Alba, has a long rich history in Italy’s Northern wine region. Producing wine since 1905, the winery and vineyards have gone through a few different hands of ownership and today is cared for by the Antonori family. Celebrating the traditions of Piedmont and The Langhe, Prunotto is dedicated to furthering the history, culture, food and wine that the region has to offer. Prunotto’s Barbaresco is produced from vineyards in Treiso and Neive in the Barbaresco area.
The Prunotto Barbaresco is made from 100% Nebbiolo and was aged in oak barrels of varying capacities for approximately one year. This food-friendly wine is perfect for occasions both serious and casual. This wine is light and bright. Zippy red fruits like cherry, raspberry, and cranberry pop out of the glass. A punchy rustic note follows with spicy pepper, tobacco, and a touch of oak. The palate is greeted with tight tannins and racy acidity; red fruited with flavors of mint, leather, and mushroom wrapped in a long, elegant finish. This wine can be enjoyed on its own or with a variety of foods like burrata, spicy pasta dishes, charcuterie, lamb, and hearty vegetable dishes.
