Set in the gorgeous village of Solicchiata perched on the north-eastern slopes of Mount Etna, the Pietradolce winery was founded in 2005 and has 11 hectares of vines planted here. The estate’s vineyards sit at an altitude of 600-900 metres above sea level and are mostly planted with traditional-style bush vines which cope well with the dry Mediterranean climate.
These tough conditions are ideal for making delicious, minimal intervention wines with lots of natural character from the grape and terroir. Hot sunny days help to fully ripen the grapes while the cool, fresh nights preserve acidity and aromas. This crisp and refreshing rosé is crafted from the local Nerello Mascalese grape which thrives here on Etna. Grapes are harvested by hand to maintain quality and are fermented in stainless steel tanks to showcase the true charm of the grape variety.
Luscious nectarine, raspberry and cranberry define the nose while the first sip reveals a zingy acidity, smooth texture, and vibrant palate with rich red berry flavours. The finish is pure and clean with plenty of mouthwatering freshness and hints of lime, orange peel and redcurrants. In typical Italian style this is a great wine to pair with food, including fresh seafood, grilled fish, sushi, leafy salads, or even just a simple platter of cheeses.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
