Located in Sicily, on the slopes of Mount Etna, in the village of Milo, the Maugeri winery owns approximately 7 hectares of replanted bush-trained vineyards between Contrada Praino and Contrada Volpare. In this area known for its white winemaking tradition, the company, managed by Renato and his daughters Carla, Michela, and Paola, produces a range of IGT wines in addition to Etna Bianco Superiore and Etna Rosato. Their excellent wines exude a strong respect for the terroir and the local winemaking traditions.
The Catarratto grapes are sourced from an organically farmed terraced vineyard located in the Volpare-Milo district, approximately 700 meters above sea level, on the eastern slope of Mount Etna. Here, the vines, traditionally trained as bush vines, are rooted in sandy, mineral-rich volcanic soil and enjoy a northern exposure. After manual harvesting and fermentation in stainless steel, the wine ages on the lees for approximately four months before bottling.
In the glass, the wine reveals a luminous straw-yellow color. Its aromatic profile releases notes of citrus and white fruit, with floral and aromatic herbal notes. On the palate, the wine displays an elegant and delicate character with a distinctive saline touch. It is fresh, lively, and mineral with a long, persistent finish. It pairs deliciously with seafood, grilled fish, and fish soups.
