My Favorite Neighbor is a range of wines created by Eric Jensen of Booker Vineyards and is based in California, more precisely in Paso Robles. The name of the label is a tribute to Stephan Asseo of L'Aventure. Their most representative wine is certainly the Cabernet Sauvignon, but the range also includes a Chardonnay produced with grapes sourced from San Luis Obispo, a rosé from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc, and the Harvey & Harriet Bordeaux blend (so named in honor of Jensen's parents). The company purchases grapes from local vineyards.
The wine is made with a predominance of Cabernet Sauvignon, and small additions of Petit Verdot, Malbec, Petit Sirah, and Syrah. The grapes come from clay-soil vineyards located in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, and south of the Edna Valley.
My Favorite Neighbor Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep red color and a ripe and intense aromatic profile with notes of dark berries, black cherry, and cassis, and then hints of spices and cedar. On the palate, it is rich and concentrated. It has a good body and well-integrated tannins. The acidity is well-balanced. The finish is long with hints of red fruit and tobacco. Excellent with red meat and game.
