Miro Fondrk Hron Private Reserve 2019

After studying at the Lednice Faculty of Horticulture, and obtaining the WSET advanced certificate in London, Miro Fondrk founded his company in 2008, initially as a boutique winery. Then in 2015, the company changed headquarters and the cellar was modernized and enlarged. Today, the total production is around 15-20 thousand bottles a year, of which 75% are red wines. The grapes come from the company's vineyards and are selected and processed with great care and attention to produce high-quality wines.

The 100% Hron variety grapes (a cross between Castets and Aboriou Noir) are selected and harvested by hand and then left to macerate at a low temperature before fermentation which takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 6 months on the lees and finally matured in new French oak barrels.

The Hron Private Reserve Miro Fondrk has a deep ruby color and an intense aromatic profile with notes of blueberries, blackberries, and other ripe forest berries, followed by hints of wood. On the palate, it is concentrated and full, juicy and complex with firm and well-integrated tannins. It goes very well with red meat or lamb.
