The Miro Fondrk winery is located in the Bratislava region of southeastern Slovakia and was founded in 2008. Today, the company, which has expanded and modernized in recent years, owns vineyards in the Southern Slovak wine region, where they cultivate native and international varieties such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Instead, the white grapes of Veltliner and Chardonnay are selected from the Malokarpatska wine region.
EL & FI IV. Cuvée Riserva Privata is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Alibernet from the Rúbaň/Nová Vieska vineyards. The grapes are selected and harvested manually.. The different varieties are vinified separately in French oak vats, then aged for 24 months on the lees and finally mixed and aged in wood for 6 months.
The wine has a clear ruby red color and a broad and intensely fruity aromatic profile with aromas of dark berries, floral notes, and some tertiary hints of spice and tobacco. On the palate, it is rich and complex, full and powerful with well-balanced acidity and well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and elegant. It’s a characterful wine that has a good aging potential and will work deliciously with roast lamb and grilled red meat.
