    Founded 40 years ago, Merryvale Vineyards is a family-owned California winery located in Napa Valley. The company produces rich and powerful wines in small batches mainly based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes, sourced from selected plots. Their historic building is one of the most popular destinations for wine tourists, being the first company to be built in 1933 at the end of Prohibition.

    The Profile is a mostly Cabernet Sauvignon wine, with small additions of Petit Verdot. The grapes come from a single vineyard located in Conn Valley. After vinification, the wine is aged for 26 months in French oak barrels (75% new).

    The wine reveals a deep and intense color with purple hues. Its aromatic profile is powerful and broad with notes of plums, blackcurrants, blueberries, and cassis and then toasted spices, earthy hints, and tobacco. On the palate, it is rich and structured, solid and full-bodied. The flavor is concentrated and the tannins are firm. The finish is long and recalls spicy notes. It is a wine of great character that requires rich and substantial dishes such as red meat or game stews.
