Located in the Cote de Nuits, the Méo-Camuzet estate has a long winemaking tradition but only began producing wine under its name in the 1980s, with the arrival of Jean-Nicolas Méo. The estate has vineyards in Grands Crus and Premier Cru sites in Nuits-St-Georges and Vosne-Romanée.

The Pinot Noir grapes come from the Les Barreaux plot, near Richebourg, planted in the 1970s and 1980s, and from Les Communes, a plot located in the center of the village, planted in the 1950s. The winemaking process is done separately per plot, and the finished wines are aged in barrels (half of which are new) and then assembled before bottling.

In the glass, Meo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanee shows a powerful and elegant aromatic profile with notes of cherries and rose petals, tobacco, and balsamic hints. On the palate, it is intense, and fresh and has an excellent mineral vein. It is well structured with a lively acidity and well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and persistent. It is an iconic wine that expresses all the nobility of its terroir and incredible aging potential. It may still show signs of youth, so it is best to decant it or leave it in the cellar for a few years before being amazed by its wonderful elegance. Try it with roasted partridge or pheasant stew.
