Founded in 2009 by Matias Riccitelli, Riccitelli Wines is located in Las Compuertas, at approximately 1,100 meters above sea level in the Argentine wine region of Mendoza. The Viñas Extremas line of wines is the purest expression of Matias' vision, which pays homage to the uniqueness of the estate vineyards and Argentine terroirs.

The Malbec grapes come from the Los Chacayes region, 1,500 meters above sea level. Here, the vines are rooted in unique limestone soils. The soils, the altitude, and the cool climate create ideal conditions for the full expression of Malbec and the production of a complex and balanced wine. After manual harvesting and spontaneous fermentation at a controlled temperature in small concrete tanks, the finished wine ages in French oak barrels for 16 months.

Vinas Extremas Los Chacayes Malbec is a powerful and expressive wine. On the nose, it reveals a complex aromatic profile with typical notes of dark fruit and forest floor, followed by mineral hints, mint, and aniseed aromas. On the palate, it is rich, broad, and juicy. It has a refreshing and well-balanced acidity and smooth tannins. The finish is long and persistent. Leave it in the cellar for a few years or, if you can’t wait, enjoy it with grilled red meat.
