Plavac Mali
Mateo Vicelic Dingac 2015
Drink now through to 2028
Red with a tinge of orange in colour, the nose gives spice, cherry and also a hint of citrus. On the palate, there is a hint of sweetness and a ripe, almost raisin dimension to the wine. There is plenty of red fruit, spice and a hint of vanilla which is a result of oak ageing. Ripe tannins balanced with high acidity provides a beautiful full bodied wine that works best with food but can be enjoyed on it’s own. The long finish ensures you experience some of the best Croatian wine just that little bit longer.
This Dingac is made from the finest Plavac Mali grapes (linked very closely with the zinfandel grape which is popular in wines from the USA).
Ideal food matches would include steak, veal, game and strong cheese.
The vineyard of Mateo Vicelic Wines is a tiny 3.5 hectare but produces superb quality wines that are much sought after. The vineyard itself consists of steep limestone slopes that sit on the Pelijesac Peninsula.
