Founded in Rully in 1926, Maison Louis Picamelot is a pioneer in the production of traditional-method sparkling wines in Burgundy. The company owns approximately 17 hectares of vineyards and purchases approximately half of its grapes from trusted growers. In the tradition of Cremants de Bourgogne, production focuses on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, along with other local white varietals. The company also makes some single-vineyard wines, a pure expression of a precise and distinctive terroir.
Crémant de Bourgogne Les Terroirs Brut is an elegant blend of almost equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with the addition of Aligoté and a small trace of Gamay. After careful manual harvesting and vinification, the finished wine rests on its lees for at least 18 months.
The resulting wine is golden in color, enhanced by a lively and persistent perlage. Its aromatic profile is broad and fragrant, with notes of yellow fruit and wildflowers, and hints of frangipane, bread crust, and brioche. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, fruity and flavorful. It is balanced and has a creamy texture. The finish is long and aromatic. Enjoy it alone as an aperitif or with fried fish or vegetable tempura.
