Like the label that graces the bottle, the winemaker draws inspiration from street art. Both are wildly unpredictable and require hard work for something temporary and fleeting. And much like art, wine should be should be, and must be, shared so that it can be enjoyed properly.
The 2014 growing season in Eastern Washington was the warmest that they had seen in decades and allowed for ideal conditions. All varietals in all vineyards had an excellent ripening period which meant a very successful harvest.
The winemaker’s ambition was to make a wine that represented the best that Washington Cabernet had to offer, while also adding their own style to the process. Using methods such as lengthy maceration, balanced ageing between oak and concrete, and small amounts blending grapes, they create a quintessential Washington Cabernet with some welcomed uniqueness.
The nose shows off classic aromas of cherry and a lovely leather quality. The taste is bold yet refined with layers of blueberry, chocolate, pomegranate and bright cherry. The tannins and mouth feel are silky without feeling too soft. There is a definite rustic edge to it that leads to a very balanced finish.
The bold characteristics of the wine make it a great pairing with seared vegetables and all grilled meats such as lamb, pork or beef.
