Opening with strong scents of cherry, plum, blackberry and spiced wood, this is a classic, muscular Cabernet Sauvignon. It was created on California’s North Coast, from some of the best vineyards in Napa Valley and Lake County, and contains portions of Petite Sirah and Malbec, alongside the dominant Cabernet Sauvignon.

Hess Select is a range from the Hess Collection Winery, providing a perfect balance of quality, longevity, and affordability. The Hess Collection was founded in 1978 by Donald Hess, a Swiss winemaker and entrepreneur who made a business “U-turn” from mineral water to wine, when he first tasted the local cuvées of Napa Valley. Now, his legacy is continued by the next generation of the Hess family.

The Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a bold blast of red and black fruits. As it develops on the palate, you can detect underlying notes of liquorice, tobacco, chocolate and greenery. The wine was aged for 18 months in a mixture of American and new French oak, imparting a warm, woody side to the wine and chewy, mouth-coating tannins. Consider pairing it with lasagna, eggplant parmesan, or a rich steak.
