A beautiful GSM fashioned after the wines of the Southern Rhone, this Grenache dominant blend displays a red color with hints of purple on the rim, and a tantalizing nose of cherries, blueberries, white pepper, and baking spices. On the palate, fine grained tannins contribute to an exceptionally smooth yet energetic mouthfeel, with raspberries, cloves, and black pepper taking the lead on a long spicy finish.

A great wine to drink on a warm summer evening, this medium-to-full bodied wine would pair exceptionally well with barbecued chicken, cassoulet with duck confit, or on its own as an aperitif with pungent cheeses that can stand up to its deep flavor.

Sourced from sustainably grown Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grapes from the Arroyo Seco, Santa Lucia Highlands, and Paso Robles AVA's, the Hahn GSM Blend embodies the Hahn Family Wines approach to winemaking. This includes extended maceration of the grapes, gentle pressing, and cold soaking which leads to a wine of exceptional aromatic intensity, with 40% new French oak smoothing out tannins and lending subtle flavors that add to the complexity of the wine. A second-generation family owned winery, Hahn Family Wines was pivotal in establishing the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA in 1991, just 11 years after their founding in 1980. They have remained stalwart supporters of Monterey County Wines ever since.
