Francis Ford Coppola Winery was founded by the film legend of the same name. Francis Ford Coppola has been an avid wine collector for the last 30 years. His goal with the Sonoma County winery was to create a family-friendly environment, a place where food, entertainment, and most importantly, fantastic wine, can come together.

In 2006, Francis Ford Coppola purchased Chateau Souverain in the Alexander Valley AVA and renovated it completely. The Coppola family are no strangers to wine-making. Francis Ford’s grandfather, Agostino Coppola, used to create his own home-brewed wine in the basement of his New York apartment building.

The Diamond Collection showcases wine that is ideal for every occasion, with grapes sourced from all across California and Oregon. The Coppola Claret is the pinnacle of the range, a deep, luscious Bordeaux-style blend. The nose emanates a rich bouquet of forest fruits, toasted nuts, caramel and tobacco. Cabernet Sauvignon makes up the lion's share of the blend, joined by portions of Petit Verdot, Merlot and Petite Sirah. It has a sophisticated profile, a full body, and limber tannins. The palate is packed with blueberry, cassis, and comforting notes of coffee and cocoa. It will pair beautifully with a mushroom risotto or a herbaceous rack of lamb.
