Drink now through to 2024. No need to decant before serving.
This stunning Marlborough Pinot Noir is a rich and well-structured example, opening with intense aromas of ripe red cherries, raspberries and strawberries. On the palate there is plenty of ripe red fruit flavours which linger on the tongue along with a medium body and silky smooth texture. The bold personality of this Pinot makes an ideal partner for rich duck dishes, cheese and charcuterie, or a relaxed weekday dinner of pizza or pasta with a tomato sauce.
The grapes used to craft the F-Series Pinot Noir are sourced from select vineyards in the southern part of the Wairau Valley. Here the terroir tends to produce richer, more concentrated Pinot Noir grapes thanks to the clay and loam soils and slightly warmer conditions. Framingham also leave approximately 25 to 30% whole bunches in during the fermentation process to add extra tannins and complexity. Following fermentation the new wine is aged in French oak barrels for 14 months before it is deemed ready for release.
The Framingham winemaking team are guided by a true passion for what they do and a desire to make wines that they themselves want to drink. In order to produce the best wines possible they farm their vines organically and use sustainable practices to preserve the land for generations to come. This approach and the remarkable quality of their wines has helped to rapidly establish this boutique winery as one of Marlborough’s finest.
