The Durigutti Family Winery was founded in 2002 by two brothers, Héctor and Pablo Durigutti. Born and raised in Mendoza, the winemaking heart of Argentina, the brothers have a special relationship with the small town of Las Compuertas, considered to be the birthplace of Malbec and a stronghold for high-quality Argentinian wine.
In 2007, Héctor and Pueblo acquired their first vineyard in Las Compuertas. It is a 5-hectare plot containing 100-year-old Malbec wines, which they named after their mother: Finca Victoria. This wine is a tribute to those historic Las Compuertas vineyards, composed of Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, with small amounts of Charbono and Cordisco.
This wine begins with an alluring nose of blackberry, plum and cassis, with background notes of cocoa, baking spice and dried herbs. It is medium-bodied on the palate, with crunchy acidity and silky, fine-grained tannins. In the mouth, you can discover further black fruit notes, with elements of sandalwood, oak, and leather. The fruits spent 34 months ageing before release, in a combination of egg-shaped tanks and oak casks. It is ideal for pairing with high-quality steak, pungent cheese, or venison stew.
