With its 54 hectares in the AOC Chateauneuf Du Pape and the 18 hectares in the AOC Côtes-du-Rhône, the Domaine du Grand Tinel produces a wide range of refined wines. The company was founded in 1972, following the marriage between Christiane Establet and Elie Jeune, but in reality, both families of origin have a long wine tradition. Elie's father, Lucien Jeune, owned vines in Chateauneuf Du Pape, while Georges Establet acquired plots in La Gardiole in 1846 which still today represent the heart of the property.
The wine is produced with a blend of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Roussanne and Bourboulenc, manually harvested from plants that are over thirty years old. The harvest takes place in the early hours of the morning to enjoy cool temperatures that can guarantee the good maintenance of the health of the grapes. The Roussanne grapes and part of those of Grenache are vinified in new barrels, the rest in stainless steel.
The white Chateauneuf Du Pape of the Domaine du Grand Tinel is one of the reference wines of the appellation. The aromatic profile is fragrant with notes of lemon peel, stone fruit, and quince often accompanied by some floral notes (white flowers). On the palate, the wine shows impressive freshness and vivacity. It is a wide and deep wine able to evolve with elegance with some time in the cellar. It goes very well with fish, shellfish, white meats, and medium-aged cheeses.
