Di Meo Greco di Tufo 2021

Founded in the 1980s by the three Di Meo brothers, the winery is still a family business and is considered one of the most prestigious production companies in the area. Today, Roberto and Generoso Di Meo who manage the business, are dedicated not only to the vinification of wines from native Irpinia vines but also to the production of liqueurs, spirits, and other Irpinia food and wine products.

The grapes are selected in the area of Santa Paolina e Tufo, in the province of Avellino, from vines of about 15 years, planted on predominantly clayey and calcareous soil, at an altitude of about 480 m a.s.l. After being vinified in steel at a controlled temperature and always left to mature in steel, the wine rests in the bottle for a period ranging from three to six months.

The color is lively and brilliant straw yellow. The olfactory bouquet is broad and extremely elegant, with hints of peach and almond followed by nuances of white pepper and subtle references to thyme and tarragon. In the mouth the wine is crunchy and fragrant, supported by a well-present acid backbone, full-bodied, and of excellent length. It is an excellent expression of Greco di Tufo which goes very well with white meat, fish, and shellfish.
