Young couple David and Nadia met while studying and later gave up their winemaking day jobs to start their very own project in Swartland. They now lease a farm in Paardebosch which provides around half of their grape needs, with the rest of them coming from trusted partner growers in the region. The couple are passionate about restoring and caring for the old vines on the property, treating many of their wines with minimal intervention techniques to highlight the quality of the fruit and the terroir.

This elegant Grenache is crafted from top quality fruit from five different parcels which are harvested using several pass throughs to make sure all of the grapes are at optimum ripeness. Part of the wine is then fermented and matured in concrete tanks while the remainder is matured in 500 litre French oak barrels for one year.

This combination of concrete and oak vessels helps to showcase the purity and beauty of the grapes themselves, with the nose expressing classic Grenache notes of ripe strawberries, raspberries and pomegranate. The first sip reveals plenty of red berry notes carefully balanced by undertones of freshly-cut herbs, mint, and forest floor. A great wine to cellar for a few more years or enjoy now alongside lighter meat dishes.
