This stunning Chardonnay is named after Kevin John Cullen who along with his wife, Diana, established Cullen Wines in 1971. The couple were pioneering winemakers in the Margaret River region, planting the very first Cabernet Sauvignon vines in Wilyabrup. In recent years the estate has converted to biodynamic agriculture which helps to preserve the natural personality of the grapes and the terroir.
Chardonnay grapes for this wine were sourced from the property’s 30 year old vines in the Cullen vineyard. The fruit is harvested according to the biodynamic calendar which is based on the lunar cycle and the wine is fermented and aged in French oak for eight months.
On the nose there are intense hits of nectarine, pear and bitter almonds along with smoky and toasty notes from the oak. A vibrant refreshness provides the perfect foil to the rich, buttery texture and long finish which is seasoned with cigar box spice and tropical fruit like papaya, lime and grapefruit. The lively personality and rich flavours make this a great match for fish or chicken dishes as well as summer salads and creamy cheeses. It will also age well in the cellar if kept for another decade or so.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
