Chateau Poesia has been owned by the Garcin-Levêque family since 2014 who also count Clos l’Eglise and Haut Bergey amongst their prestigious holdings. Patrice Leveque takes care of the estate’s 13 hectares of vineyards while Helene Garcin manages the cellar.
Poesia’s vineyards enjoy a prestigious setting on a high limestone plateau in Saint-Emilion. Soils here are rich in clay and limestone which favors the 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon plantings. The estate is blessed with many older vines, including some that are over 70 years old, which creates a house style with plenty of opulence and richness. In the winery the family uses small temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for fermentation followed by 18 months in French oak barrels.
The result is an intense and charming Saint-Emilion with plenty of rich, silky fruit from the Merlot and a touch of power from the Cabernet Franc. Expect luscious ripe cassis, plum, and black cherries on the nose along with subtle notes of spice, vanilla, and cedar. The first sip reveals a firm full body and well-developed tannins which will help this bottle evolve beautifully in the cellar.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
