Chateau Bouscaut is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend rich in dark purple that luxuriates in its oak. It feels like a signature Bouscaut with an opulent feel and silky texture without going overboard.
Lucien Lurton acquired the Chateau Bouscaut in 1979 and has since been managed by the Lurton family. It is now home to one of the most beautiful properties within the Graves region, owned by Laurent Cogombles and Sophie Lurton. Sophie uses a hands-on approach when it comes to running the vineyards. Her commitment to this elegant Grave estate is evident – from crafting wine in the vat room to pouring and showcasing the wine in trade tastings. The property scores have massively gone up, but Chateau Bouscaut remains relatively affordable.
If you love a no-frills wine with tremendous value, Chateau Bouscaut is your best bet. The wine has a nose of black fruits such as blackberry, plum, and cherry with a refreshing finish and minty and woody notes. On the palate, this magnificent Chateau Bouscaut is juicy with gorgeous purity and a lifted finish. The ripe Semillon is balanced with zesty sauvignon and vinified in temperature-controlled traditional cement vats and stainless steel tanks before being aged in 50% new French oak barrels for 16 months. It’s a museum release! Cellar for a few more years or enjoy with roast lamb, duck, or beef.
