Located in Dorset, South West England, the Bride Valley Estate was founded by renowned writer and wine merchant Steven Spurrier and his wife Arabella. The vines were planted on a limestone soil that is surprisingly similar to that of Champagne, and the vineyard is distributed in a strategic amphitheatrical position overlooking the village of Litton Cheney. The grapes harvested on the estate are then vinified by winemaker Ian Edwards in his Furleigh Estate cellar.
The wine is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes sourced from slopes facing south where the climatic conditions favor perfect ripening and exceptional freshness. The finished wine is left on its lees for 24 hours.
Its color is lemon yellow with pale nuances. The perlage is persistent. On the nose, the wine reveals pleasant aromas of fresh stone fruit and pear, apples, and white flowers. On the palate, it is fresh and mineral, juicy and lively. The long and persistent finish recalls notes of citrus fruit. It is an elegant and well-balanced wine that can age beautifully for a decade and works deliciously with rich mixed salads, seafood, fish, and fried appetizers. It also makes a classy aperitif.
