Founded in Naoussa, in the northern part of Greece, Boutari is a winery with a winemaking tradition of over a century, which today has locations in various regions, including Santorini and Crete. Since 2022, the company has been part of the Sterner Stenhus Greece group.
The 1879 Boutari Legacy is a Xinomavro that pays homage to the winery's history and its founding date. The grapes come from a cru vineyard located in Trilofos, in the province of Thessaloniki, in Naoussa. After harvesting, a short cold maceration, and fermentation with selected yeasts, the finished wine rests for about 2 years in new French oak barrels.
The result is an elegant, modern wine that can age well for a couple of decades. In the glass, the wine reveals an intense color with dark red tones and a broad aromatic profile with notes of plum, cherry, red berries, tomato juice, and dried figs, followed by hints of spice and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and round, with soft tannins and a pleasant refreshing acidity that provides balance. The finish is long and warm and recalls lightly spicy notes. Its structure and complexity of flavors make it ideal for a game stew or a red meat pie.

In my opinion you could differentiate between regular customers and one spot when it comes to the duration of points accumulated. Losing my credits is annoying.
