La Folie is a gorgeous ruby red, with a nose that slowly unfolds into scents of blackcurrant, cherry, chocolate, coffee and dried herbs. It is composed of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre, sourced from a 1-hectare plot on the Mont-Redon plateau. La Folie treads the line between elegance and opulence perfectly, and it is a fantastic wine for sharing with friends.

Bosquet des Papes is a family-run winery, passed down through six generations of the Boiron family since its foundation in 1860. The Boiron’s own 40 different plots in Chateauneuf du Pape, and strive to create complex yet accessible wines that reflect the majesty of the region. Today, Nicolas Boiron and his wife Jeanne-Claire usher in a new era, balancing modernisation with a deep respect for tradition.

On the palate of La Folie, you can detect flavours of cassis, raspberry and black cherry, with supporting notes of oak, mint and baking spice. It is a powerful wine, full-bodied with a strong tannic structure. It is also remarkably smooth, with ripe, New World-esque fruits. The grapes came from vines with an average age of 90-100 years, growing on rolled pebble soil. Enjoy La Folie alongside barbecued meats, beef stew, or aged, hard cheese.
