Located in Patagonia, Bodega Noemia is one of the southernmost wineries in the world. The company, founded in 2001, on the site of an old estate established in the 1930s, has ancient vineyards, some even planted in 1932. In this region of glacial origin, the vineyards, cultivated according to organic and biodynamic standards, are planted on poor soil with a rocky and calcareous substratum and can benefit from the waters of the Limay and Neuquen rivers.

The Malbec grapes come from an ungrafted vineyard planted in 1955. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in steel tanks and the finished wine matures for 11 months in a mix of ovoid vats, concrete tanks, and used barriques.

J Alberto wine has a bright and deep color with purple tones. Its aromatic profile is intense with notes of red and dark fruits (blackberry, blueberry, and boysenberry) followed by iodine scents. On the palate, it is surprisingly lively with a marked acidity and a pleasant mineral flavor. It is juicy and full-bodied with fine tannins. The finish is long and persistent. It is excellent with red meat and game.
