Located in the Wagram region of Austria, the Bernhard Ott winery extends over 40 hectares. The vineyards are mainly planted with Gruner Veltliner grapes from which wines of excellent complexity and good aging potential are produced. The company, initially founded in 1889, is now led by Bernhard Ott, the family's fourth generation, who took over the helm at the young age of just over 20. Over the last 30 years, Bernhard has experimented with and applied many innovations, not least the transition to a biodynamic regime.

The Gruner Veltliner grapes are meticulously selected from approximately 45-year-old vines, planted on loess soils, in small plots located around Spiegel and Rosenberg, and then vinified separately. Starting in 2019, grapes from the Kamptal wine region are also added.

Grüner Veltliner Fass 4 is the most popular wine from Bernhard Ott's winery and is also considered a reference wine for the complexity potential of this grape variety. It is an elegant wine with an intense aromatic profile. The nose reveals notes of yellow apple, and stone fruit (especially nectarines) and then aromatic herbs and citrus fruits. On the palate, it is fresh, vibrant, and juicy with a strong acidity. The finish is long and recalls tropical and citrus notes. It is perfect with traditional Austrian cuisine.
