The Maison Albert Bichot has been a family winery for 6 generations and owns 6 Domaines, all located in the heart of the sub-regions that make up Burgundy. Indeed, the Bichot family settled in Burgundy as early as 1350, and in 1831 Bernard Bichot established a wine trading business near Beaune. His son Albert Bichot then founded the cellar in Beaune in 1912, taking the family business in a new direction.
The wine is obtained from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, grown on clayey-calcareous soils in the Châtillonnais, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais areas. Chardonnay, which is the dominant grape variety, gives freshness and minerality to the wine ,while Pinot Noir adds fruity notes and density. The dosage is light so as not to influence too much the nature of the base wines.
Albert Bichot's Cremant de Bourgogne Brut Reserve has a light and bright color and fine bubbles. On the nose, it reveals citrus notes (especially pink grapefruit) and white flowers. It is lively and fresh. On the palate, its vibrancy is immediately confirmed, with good acidity and a clean, lean mouthfeel. The finish is fresh and long. It is the ideal wine for an aperitif, but it also goes very well with seafood, fatty fish such as salmon, and poultry.
