Cantina del Pino

History
The Cantina del Pino is located in Barbaresco on the top of the hill overlooking the Ovello vineyard and has belonged to the Vacca family for about a century. The family members have been involved in viticulture for several generations. In 1997 Renato Vacca decided together with his father Adriano to leave the Barbaresco Producers cooperative and start making wine on his own.
The symbol of the estate is the maritime pine that dominates the Ovello hill, planted at the end of the 19th century by Domizio Cavazza, the previous owner of the estate. The family's vineyards are concentrated around the Ovello hill, a site known for its cool microclimate and the uniqueness of its soils, a mix of limestone, sand, and calcium, that creates the ideal conditions for long-lived Barbaresco wines.

I like the selection of nice wines a lot. What could be better is taking good care of the wines during transport. It is very cold in Holland and the wines i received yesterday where freezing cold. I hope that they are not damaged by the cold.
