What is Tempranillo wine similar to?

Tempranillo wine is a very similar to Cabernet Sauvignon, with yet more of dark fruits, firm tannins and aging potential. Yet Tempranillo is always more on the earthy side with some spicy note, which makes it very comparable to the Sangiovese in a way. Its flexibility is reflected in the variety of styles it can produce, from the young and fruity to the complex and the mature, as well as the Merlot.
