Each bottle of Tinto Pesquera Crianza contains a little of the history of the Ribera del Duero. Alejandro Fernández and Esperanza Rivera began producing it in 1975, placing Ribera del Duero on the world wine map even before it became a denomination.
Its elaboration follows the ancestral tradition, with destemming followed by fermentation. After a period spent in stainless steel vats, the wine rests for 14 months in American oak barrels. It is a wine full of fruit, easy to approach, but also capable of aging with elegance. A fundamental red for those who want to know about the wines of the Ribera del Duero. Although the vintages seem progressively drier due to climate change, Pesquera Crianza retains that freshness which is precisely the sign of its identity.
The color is intense ruby with violet reflections. The nose is dominated by hints of wild berries and balsamic tones of the forest. Over time, the notes of licorice and the spicy aromas associated with its aging in American oak advance, but always with great delicacy. In the mouth, the wine is fleshy, the tannins round, the acidity perfectly integrated, with nice persistence. Have it with stuffed eggplant, rabbit with olives, or Coq au vin.
