Founded in 2010, the Australian Thistledown winery produces excellent quality wines by selecting its grapes from the best growers in various subregions of the southern part of the country such as Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, and Langhorne Creek. The company focuses on the production of Grenache and Syrah trying to best reflect the maximum expression of these vines and the splendid terroirs of Australia.

Grenache grapes are selected and hand-harvested from old bush trained vines in some of McLaren Vale's finest vineyards on sandy, mineral-rich soils. The vinification takes place separately by plot, the fermentation starts spontaneously and the finished wine rests for 10 months in oak barrels.

Thorny Devil Grenache is a captivating wine that smells of red spices and flowers, red cherry, blueberry, and strawberry, with hints of black tea. On the palate, it is succulent and fruity, tasty and elegant with soft tannins and a well-balanced vein of freshness. The finish is long and gently spicy. It is a wine ready to drink but which can evolve elegantly with a few years in the cellar. Try it with lamb or spicy Indian chicken recipes.
