Named after the immense granite outcrop overlooking the rolling vineyards, Sunrock Vineyards was established in 1999 in this stunning corner of the Okanagan Valley. The 180 acre estate is set at the northern tip of Osoyoos where the terroir is ideal for producing premium quality Canadian wines. Thanks to the arid conditions, south-facing slopes, sandy soils and heat-retaining properties of the Sunrock outcrop, the estate enjoys a long ripening season ideal for varieties like Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.

This rich and smoky Shiraz is crafted from estate grapes harvested in mid-October when the fruit has reached optimal maturity. The grapes are then crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks before being transferred to selected French and American oak barrels where the wine matures for 16 months before bottling.

The result is a full-throttled, powerful red which is bursting with ripe cherries, blackcurrant, plum and bitter chocolate on the nose. On the palate there is a generous full body, firm tannins and a very long finish with hints of forest floor, licorice and cigar box spice. The bold flavour profile makes this a natural match for red meat dishes including a fine ribeye steak, barbecued ribs or even chorizo sausages.
