Schloss Gobelsburg is considered to be the oldest continuously operated winery in the Danube region of Kamptal and one of the oldest in Europe. Here the history of viticulture can be traced back to the 12th century. The company has been run by Eva and Michael Moosbrugger since 1996, in the venerable walls below Gobelsburg Castle, which celebrated its legendary 850th year in 2021. Their goal lies in the passionate preservation and continuation of the centuries-old history of this cultural asset. The cellar master Franz Karner ages the wines slowly and freshly in large neutral wooden barrels. The company is well known for its preference for historical winemaking, which is expressed in the wines called "Tradition" which refer to winemaking techniques dating back at the beginning of the 19th century.
Tradition Heritage Cuvee 3 Years is a wine with a bright golden color. The aromatic palette is complex and made of layers of fresh apple, pear and quince, delicate spices, and rich notes of salty yeast. It is a powerful wine, vibrant, juicy and elegant, with a lingering minerality on the finish. It is ready to drink now but it also shows good aging potential.
Pair it with pork tenderloin or vegetarian dishes.
