Young Basque winemaker, Oxer Bastegieta founded his own winery in Laguardia in the Rioja wine region while continuing to produce Txakoli in the family cellar. Here, near Kortezubi, Oxer works 5 hectares of organic vineyards with centuries-old plants, where he grows the native Hondarribi Zuri, Hondarribi Zuri Zerratie, and Iztiriota ttipia vines. In the cellar, he prefers a philosophy of minimal intervention to give maximum expression to the vines and terroirs.

Marko Gure Arbasoak is an atypical Txakoli white wine, thanks to its extraordinary aging potential. The grapes are selected and harvested manually from vineyards located in Vizcaya near the coast, on clay-limestone soils. Fermentation takes place partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in foudres, and the finished wine rests in foudres on its lees for 7 months before bottling.

The wine reveals a fruity and ripe aromatic profile with notes of apple and pear and some floral and smoky hints. On the palate, it is creamy and complex with a well-balanced acid vein and a long and mineral finish. It is an elegant wine capable of aging well, which pairs deliciously with oily fish and seafood.
