Located in the Judean Hills of Israel, Five Stones Winery grows international grape varieties in the Elah Valley vineyards. Here the pedoclimatic conditions favor the production of healthy and perfectly ripe grapes but still equipped with a well-balanced acidity. This young company, the result of a partnership led by Ilan Hasson, makes high-quality and widely acclaimed Kosher wines.
D vs G, whose name derives from the abbreviation David vs Goliath, is a blend of the French varieties Shiraz, Marselan, Carignan, and Petite Sirah grapes sourced from vineyards located in the Elah Valley. Grapes are selected from vines aged between 14 and 18 years and planted on clayey-chalky soils. After fermentation, the wine is matured for 10 months in French oak barrels (70% used and 30% new) before bottling.
The wine has a dense ruby-red color. Its aromatic profile is intensely fruity with notes of dark berries, black cherry, plum, rose petals, and a pinch of spices. On the palate, it is juicy, rich, and complex with a satisfying intensity of dark fruit and a well-balanced acidity. It's bold and robust with a long, delicately spicy finish. It is the ideal wine for hearty red meat dishes.
