Located in Châteauneuf du Pape in the Rhone Valley, Domaine du Pegau has a history dating back to the 17th century, when the Feraud family was already growing grapes. In 1964, Paul Feraud decided to sell his bottled wine, but the foundation of the domaine as it is today dates back to the late 1980s. In 2012, Chateau Pegau was added to the original estate with the acquisition of 41 hectares of vineyards south of Châteauneuf du Pape.
The Cinsault grapes for Pink Pegau come from the estate vineyards in Sorgues, just 6.5 km south of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a wine region particularly suited to the production of red wines.
This splendid and captivating rosé is a mouthwatering and fresh wine, with a crisp and fragrant character. In the glass, it displays a brilliant pale pink color with salmon highlights and a broad and complex aromatic profile, with initial notes of red fruits, melon, and peach, followed by floral and delicately spicy notes. On the palate, it is vibrant, fruity, lean, and endowed with brisk acidity. It is a dry wine, lively but not frivolous. The finish is long and refreshing, with notes of strawberry mingling with citrus. It is excellent on its own as an aperitif, but is also versatile with food. Try it with grilled shrimp, seafood salads, ratatouille, and tomato tarte tatin.
