Deep, dense ruby purple color with darker hues toward the rim. The nose delivers expansive, open aromas of black fruits and white pepper which also carry subtle harmonious notes of spice, licorice and new wood.

From its initial presentation, the palate does not fail to impress. Full, neatly interwoven flavours of stone fruits and blackberries with hints of blackberry and chocolate are a part of the unique, expressive delivery. The delicate, fine-grained tannins carry significant weight and a delightful density and a velvety drinkability that is expertly balanced and meticulously interwoven for a sophisticated, well-rounded effect. The approachable, layered nuances mid-palate carry this silky, full-bodied expression to a round, persistent finish that is deep, complex and full of flavor. The finish is remarkably fruity and structred.

This wine carries a certain notable masculine expression, but also presents a delicate elegance that exposes some finesse with undercurrents of unmistakably feminine elements as well--a delightful blend of some of the best that Napa Valley has to offer. This wine is produced from one of Napa Valley’s most renowned and celebrated winemakers and from the harvest of what many considered to be a perfect growing season: frost-free, mild spring and summer and a gentle fall.

Only 1,000 cases of this vintage was produced, for an exquisite, limited offering.

This wine pairs especially well with roasted lamb spiced with fresh herbs or another succulent, meaty dish and delicate spring vegetables. This wine is very enjoyable now, but it will also age well in a temperature-controlled cellar for a delightful expression over the next decade.
