Widely regarded as "a genius of Pinotage", Arbie Beeslar founded his brand in 2011 and launched his first wine in 2012. The winemaker, best known for his work on the Kanonkop estate, cultivates approximately 2.5 hectares of vines of Pinotage on a gentle slope with a south-eastern orientation, 200m above sea level. The soils are well-drained schist and the site benefits from a southeast wind which ensures a cool climate for the vineyards and also limits plant growth.
The Pinotage grapes for this elegant South African wine come from 25-year-old bush-trained and non-irrigated vines. The harvest is manual and the fermentation takes place in open-air concrete vats. The finished wine then ages for 21 months in 40% new French oak barriques.
It is a quality wine with an excellent fruity character and a complex aromatic profile made up of aromas of red and black fruits, followed by notes of licorice, dark chocolate, tobacco leaves and spices. On the palate, it is rich and bold, smooth and concentrated. The tannins are fine and elegant. The finish is dry and persistent. It goes perfectly with any game dish such as pasta with wild boar ragout, rich lamb preparations or beef stews.

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
