Erath

History
Erath winery is one of the oldest producers in Oregon’s Dundee Hills thanks to the visionary winemaker Dick Erath who created his very first barrel of wine in his garage. Dick originally pursued a career as an engineer before studying at UC Davis, a famous viticultural school in California, and deciding to move his family to the wild hills of the Chehalem Mountains in Oregon in the 1960s.

Interesting Facts
Dick experimented with some 23 different varieties on his land before discovering that Pinot Noir thrived here. He was instrumental in helping import French clones to Oregon in the 1970s and by 1984 one of his wines was awarded “Best American Pinot Noir” by Wine & Spirits.

I like the selection of nice wines a lot. What could be better is taking good care of the wines during transport. It is very cold in Holland and the wines i received yesterday where freezing cold. I hope that they are not damaged by the cold.
