The Lavrenčičs can trace their family history in Slovenia’s Vipava Valley back to at least 1499, and they have been making wine here for three generations. Primoz Lavrenčič decided to leave his family’s winery in 2009 to found his very own project which he named Burja. The name is taken from the powerful “Burja” wind that defines life in the region and expresses Primoz’s desire to cultivate a deep connection to the land by making wines inspired by the natural world around him.
