Light gold coloring. Crisp, green apple resounds throughout this traditional Wagram Riesling. Secondary notes of citrus, especially lime, waft from the glass with nuances of peach and honey. Sweet-tart green apple meets your palate, intermingling with citrus and the sweeter nuances of stone fruit and honeysuckle. The charming acidity of this Andreas Alt Riesling balances the residual sugars nicely making it perfect to drink by itself or while dining al fresco in the warmer months.
Serve chilled, at around 8°C. Pair with Asian dishes, spicy fish or shellfish dishes, rice dishes, salads, stone fruits, and firm mild cheeses like Manchego, Jarlsberg, or Piave.
Passed down from his parents, Andreas Alt Vineyards was conceptualized and is owned by Andreas Alt since the year 2000. The 10-hectare estate was established in 1750. It features 300+-year-old hand dug cellars that offer the best fermenting conditions for the Grüner Veltliner as well as the Riesling. The loese and red gravel terroir is perfect for white wine varietals cultivated at the Andreas Alt Vineyards.
The Andreas Alt Vineyards are located in the Wagram region of Austria, in the state of Niederösterreich. Wagram lies east of the vineyards of Wachau, Kremstal, and Kamptal. It stretches 48 kilometers, from Krems in the west to Klosterneuburg on the outskirts of Vienna. There are 16 official wine regions in Austria, eight of which are located in the state of Niederösterreich.
