Drinking well now through to 2018.

In Philip Kuhn's opinion, there is no standard recipe for good wine. He suggests that carefully looking after the vines and vineyards is the first part of creating memorable wines. He then looks at the vinification process. Grapes are hand harvested and the grapes are gently pressed. Fermentation is carried out in fermentation tanks that are temperature controlled. With total control of fermentation, the quality and consistency of the wines can be virtually guaranteed.

The red wine musts are often fermented for up to 3 weeks (following de-stemming) with their skins and matured in oak for at least 15 months.

The colour is a dark and intense red which leads into a nose that oozes ripe blackcurrant, blueberry, raspberry and a hint of vanilla along with woody undertones that are typical of Laumersheimer wines.

The palate delivers a myriad of ripe black fruit and cherries with vanilla notes, intense cassis and prune and mixed with ginger and herbs, matched with a perfect balance of tannin and acid. Concentrated and fruity, the wine shows power but also structure and complexity with strong oak influence that creates a wonderful mouth feel and long luxurious finish.

Great food match with beef, steak, game and creamy cheese.
