Leading with a deep ruby red color, this Barbaresco next introduces you to the intense fruity bouquet of sweet raspberries and tart cranberries, with a light vanilla spice. On the palate, it balances ripe red fruit with perfumed sweetness of roses and cardamom. As it ages, the bright red juiciness will transition to more subdued dried plum and fig, with a more prominent spice note of nutmeg. Smooth tannins and a clear acidic finish lend this wine to a wonderful aging potential. Expect this classic example of Barbaresco to shine for years to come.

Brothers Luigi and Alfredo Grasso have managed their 7 hectares of south facing land, rich with chalky and limestone clays, to grow Barbaresco grapes that ripen early, producing fruit and, subsequently, wine, that is approachable early on. The maritime climate of the region allows for high acid fruit that is certainly age worthy. This Barbaresco has already been aged 4 years, but will continue to transition from delicate floral aromas to savory dried spices, and proceed with elegant refinement of bright acidity and velvety tannins.
