This sensational Pinot Gris is grown on Framingham’s estate vineyard in Marlborough where the cool climate conditions help to preserve freshness and balance in the finished wine. The grapes are all harvested by hand and fermented according to two different techniques. Approximately half of the grape must is fermented in stainless steel tanks while the remainder is allowed to ferment spontaneously in oak barrels. Both portions are allowed to age on the lees for 7 months to add extra complexity and texture to the finished wine.
The result is a unique Pinot Gris that has both freshness and elegance as well as a well-rounded, creamy texture and intense tropical fruit aromas and flavours. The nose offers aromatic pear, apple, and quince notes, while the first sip reveals a vibrant personality with plenty of baked apple, rich cream, and pastry flavours.
The multi-layered character of this wine makes it an ideal partner for creamy chicken dishes, leafy summer salads, or a seafood risotto. It is also perfect to enjoy on its own as a refreshing aperitif with friends on a hot summer’s day or on a relaxing afternoon by the pool or beachside.
