Drink now through 2021. Decant up to 30 minutes.
Bright straw-yellow with hints of green. Ripe melon, honey, tangerine, jasmine, chamomile, rosemary, and hay are all present on the nose and throughout. Melon and citrus linger on the palate between crisp lemon peel, banana, white peach and muted vegetal notes. The finish is crisp with a vibrant minerality that cuts through the creamy, dried almond aftertaste.
This white wine is best drunk young with a slight chill at around 10°-12°C. It pairs quite nicely with most 1st courses, light meats, fish, steamed vegetables, potato soufflé, spaghetti with clam sauce, raw Prosciutto, and salads.
The Corte Giacobbe estate in the Soave region is located between two extinct volcanoes, on the border of Verona and Vicenza. The vines of Garganega, Chardonnay, and Pinot Grigio enjoy the mineral-rich soils of the terraces, thanks to lava and tuff from the ancient volcanoes. High above, the terraces are surrounded by a generous forest of Acacia trees.
Augusto Dal Cero purchased the Corte Giacobbe in 1934 and began to cultivate it. He had his mind made up and his heart so set on having the land that he sold another property in Montecchia di Corsara in order to purchase it.
Although a big deal is not made over the fact, the Dal Cero family practices Organic cultivation of their premium grapes.
