Bio wine
You will be happy you came across this hard-to-find 100% Primitivo from D.O.C. Gioia del Colle! This wine sat happily, for 24 months, in new French oak barrels that underwent a medium toasting before being bottled and cellared to be released this year.
Pull the cork and you will be greeted with scents of black cherry, ripe blackberries, dried violet with a hint of licorice and smoke. “Drúmon” Riserva Primitivo is bursting with jammy, ripe red berry essences, silky tannins and lingering heat. Composites of blackberry jam and roasted black cherries give way to the peppery spice and licorice that elegantly weave their way from the bouquet to the delicious, lingering toasty finish.
Desirable pairings would be with red meat – grilled, roasted or stewed, lamb, large game, pasta dishes with red sauce, stuffed pheasant, and dark chocolate with berries and cream.
Primitivo grapes are widely believed to be the ancestor of California’s Zinfandel grape. Both varietals boast jammy red berry essences, inky pigmentation and high sugars. “Drúmon” Riserva Primitivo is the perfect example of the latter translating into a higher than average alcohol content at 16% ABV. It is also the second highest-priced D.O.C. Gioia del Colle wine available for purchase.
Cannito Vini Biologici has been producing Organically grown grapes for wine for over 20 years. In addition to the vineyards, the farm also Organically cultivates and produces olives, olive oil, almonds and cherries.
