Friends Maria Marangoni and Martin Mainenti founded the boutique Borgo Dei Posseri estate amongst stunning mountain pastures in the Trentino Alto Adige region in northeastern Italy. Conditions here are ideal for producing breathtaking wines which combine vibrant freshness with delicious ripe flavours thanks to the 450 to 650 metres of altitude and south facing slopes.
The Furiel Sauvignon Blanc is harvested by hand at the end of September and the grapes that will be used for this wine are carefully selected. The grape must is then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness and pure Sauvignon Blanc character. The wine spends a total of 7 months ageing in the tanks and in the bottle before it is deemed ready for release.
As soon as you pour a glass of this charming Sauvignon you’ll notice the pale yellow hue and rich aromas of elder flowers, dried herbs and green apples. On the palate there are hints of baked apples cooked in honey, lemon zest, and ripe apricots which are balanced by a vibrant acidity and medium body. Try pairing this delicious white with trout, salmon or a seafood risotto.
